Mr Sokratis Zormpas is a leading specialist in cataract, refractive surgery and glaucoma, having performed more than 20,000 intraocular procedures. Gaining his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, he went on to specialise in ophthalmology, completing a fellowship in medical ophthalmology (Cambridge) and subsequently 2 fellowships in glaucoma (Central London and Cambridge). He is also a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO).
Since receiving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), Mr Zormpas has been active as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in several private and NHS hospitals including King’s College Hospital in London and Cambridge University Hospitals.
Mr Zormpas has been involved in various research projects and has taught medical students and fellow eye doctors on topics pertaining to cataracts and other eye disorders. Moreover, he is an examiner for medical students at King’s College school of Medicine. He has co-authored multiple publications on ophthalmology and has been active as a reviewer for several esteemed journals. In order to stay on top of the latest developments in ophthalmology, Mr Zormpas attends regular courses and conferences, including the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) meetings.
Mr Zormpas performs laser eye surgery and lens replacement surgery at Optical Express Harley Street, Shaftsbury Avenue and Dartford.
