Mr Sokratis Zormpas is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in cataracts and glaucoma. Gaining his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2011, he went on to specialise in ophthalmology, completing a fellowship in medical ophthalmology in 2018 and subsequently a fellowship in glaucoma in 2020. He also became a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) in 2019.
Since receiving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2017, Mr Zormpas has been active as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at King’s College Hospital in London and a Locum Consultant in Ophthalmology at Luton & Dunstable University Hospital, where he gained extensive experience in cataract surgery, performing in excess of 3,200 cataract/IOL procedures.
Mr Zormpas has been involved in various research projects and has taught medical students and fellow eye doctors on topics pertaining to cataracts and eye disorders, including departmental teaching at Cambridge University. He has also co-authored multiple publications on ophthalmology and has been active as a reviewer for several esteemed journals.
In order to stay on top of the latest developments in ophthalmology, Mr Zormpas attends regular courses and conferences, including the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) meetings.
