CONSULTANT OPHTHALMOLOGIST
Dr Barta is an experienced and highly skilled consultant ophthalmologist with a particular speciality in cataract surgery, having performed approximately 10,000 procedures throughout her career. Her surgical precision and patient centred approach have made her a trusted and sought-after practitioner in vision correction.
Having qualified in medicine from the University of Pécs, Dr Barta completed her ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Semmelweis University in Budapest before going on to build an extensive career across both hospital and private practice settings. She has held ophthalmology posts at the Medical Centre of the Hungarian Defence Forces, Szent Rafael Hospital and, most recently, Kanizsai Dorottya Hospital, alongside a long-standing commitment to private practice at a number of leading clinics in Hungary.
Dr Barta brings broad clinical expertise to her work, encompassing cataract surgery, vitreoretinal procedures and intravitreal injection therapy for conditions including age-related macular degeneration. Her experience across both surgical and medical ophthalmology ensures that her patients receive truly comprehensive eye care.
Her dedication to advancing the field is reflected in her contributions to peer reviewed publications and her regular presence at national ophthalmological congresses, where she has presented research on topics including premium intraocular lens implantation, toric lens outcomes and the management of macular degeneration. In 2025 she was invited to perform a live surgical demonstration at the SHIOL Congress - a mark of the high regard in which her surgical skills are held by fellow professionals.
