    The short answer is: Yes

The intraocular lenses we use can treat up to 12.00 diopters of astigmatism. We offer the latest technology which, combined with our medical expertise, means that more people than ever can have this life changing treatment.

  • Can I have lens surgery if I am long sighted?

    The short answer is: Yes

  • Can I have lens surgery if I have glaucoma?

    The short answer is: Yes

Lens surgery is suitable for most patients with glaucoma, from mild to severe cases. Many patients with glaucoma may be eligible for a monofocal IOL option, which can be accompanied by other forms of treatment for the condition. However, we must be sure that the condition is stable before treatment. Your optometrist will discuss your individual requirements during your consultation, before this is discussed in detail with your surgeon.

  • Can I have lens surgery if I am short sighted?

    The short answer is: Yes

Both lens replacement and lens enhancement surgery are suitable for patients with short sightedness. They are highly effective and offer long term results, even for the most severe conditions.

  • Who can't have lens surgery?

The short answer is: A small number of patients

Most patients are suitable for lens surgery, but if this isn't right for you, we will offer an alternative solution and your optometrist and surgeon will discuss this with you in detail. The only way to find out if lens surgery is an option for you is to attend a free Optical Express consultation.
