About Igor Occhipinti
Mr Occhipinti is a fully registered medical practitioner and specialist in ophthalmology. He is a senior cataract surgeon and an expert in glaucoma treatment who has gained extensive experience in his field during his career, allowing thousands of patients to find freedom from glasses and contact lenses. He specialises in lens replacement and cataract surgery.
Mr Occhipinti studied medicine at university in Rome and went on to qualify as an ophthalmologist at university in Aquila in Italy. He gained a wealth of experience, firstly at the Ospedale Oftalmico di Roma, the major ophthalmic hospital in south-central Italy, where he worked principally in corneal transplants, cataract and refractive surgery. He was then a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Ospedale Città di Quartu and Policlinico Sant’Elena in Cagliari, Italy.
Previously a consultant ophthalmologist at Guy’s & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust in London, Mr Occhipinti also undertook at fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and also spent time as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Lincoln County Hospital and a clinical lead at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Kent.
Mr Occhipinti performs lens replacement surgery at Optical Express in Southampton.
