Pterygium is a common eye condition that can cause your eye to feel itchy and sore. In rare cases it can cause blurred vision. It is often known as “surfer's eye”.

Usually no treatment is required. If it interferes with your sight, eye drops or surgery can help.

Pterygium is a pink growth on the white of your eye, caused by overexposure to sunlight. It grows slowly. In some cases it can cover the pupil of your eye, affecting vision.
