Macular Oedema is a condition which can cause permanent vision loss if untreated. It is often the result of diabetes.

Symptoms include mild to severe loss of your central vision. The condition can be treated and managed.

Macular Oedema occurs when blood vessels in the light sensitive part of your eye (the retina) leak. The part of your eye responsible for central vision and detail (the macula) then swells up. This can cause permanent sight loss if untreated.
