Hyperopia (long-sightedness) is the condition where you see things at a distance more clearly than those that are nearby.

It is easily treated with glasses or contact lenses. The condition can be solved in the long term with lens surgery or laser eye surgery.

Hyperopia (long-sightedness) commonly occurs because the shape of your eye is too short. This causes light to be focused behind your retina rather than on to it. Your lens changes its thickness to compensate for this, resulting in blurred vision.
