After 5 years serving in the Manchester Police force, Olivia will now be equipped with crystal clear vision to combat crime. As a successful applicant in our second ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign, she underwent LASIK eye surgery; empowering her with visual clarity to excel in her role.

Olivia found herself growing weary of the inconsistency and disruption of traditional visual aids; her eyes were “really tired constantly from early mornings and long shifts”. Coupled with the hassle of battling dry eyes and forgotten glasses, it was an unnecessary obstacle in her line of duty.

Reflecting on the day of the procedure, Olivia shares, "I couldn't believe how quick it was. I was in and out within 15 minutes." She praises the team for being "informative, friendly, and helpful."

Inspired by a colleague's endorsement that LASIK was "the best thing you’ll ever do," Olivia confirms, "and it was." Her upcoming holiday promises to look a lot different this time around as she can now enjoy swimming in the pool or ocean without the inconvenience of contacts.

Her advice to others considering LASIK is clear: "Do it. Or at the very least, schedule an appointment, speak with someone about it, and gather more information to make an informed decision. I wish I'd done it sooner."

First launched in 2017, the Optical Express ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign donated £1 million worth of free laser eye surgery to NHS and Emergency Service workers. Rekindled in 2023, the campaign continues to express gratitude with an additional £1 million allocation for laser eye surgery.
