Eye can't see! Do you need glasses?

Life's busy. Juggling kids, work, gym, studying, friends, family, and appointments can leave you feeling as if you have no time left for anything else. But as you go about your daily tasks, maybe you've started to notice your eyes feel strained and tired as you check the news on your phone, or catch up with your favourite show on TV. Driving to work, road signs seem a little blurrier than normal. And at your desk, headaches at your computer are becoming more frequent.

These are just a few of the signs that you might need glasses - even if you've previously never needed them, or you're convinced that you don't need them. There's a variety of signs that may indicate that you should see an optometrist straight away for an in-depth eye test. They include:

  • Trouble seeing up close or far away
  • Difficulty seeing at night
  • Trouble adjusting from dark to light
  • Difficulty seeing computer screens clearly
  • Eye strain or fatigue
  • Frequent headaches
  • Double vision
  • Wavy vision
  • Seeing halos
  • Eye pressure

Only a qualified optometrist can tell you for sure if any of the symptoms you are experiencing above mean that you may need to consider wearing glasses or contact lenses. So if any of the symptoms above seem familiar to you, don't leave it to chance and book an eye test.

Should you need glasses, the good news is that they have become extremely fashionable. Optical Express carry styles and colours to suit even the most selective individual!

It's recommended that you have an eye test every two years, however, if you develop symptoms in between tests it's best to get them checked as soon as possible.
