Cara, a Staff Nurse from Newcastle was one of the lucky patients to receive free laser eye surgery as part of our ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign.

Cara had been wearing glasses for about 10 years and whilst it didn't bother her at first, it soon began to impact her confidence.

Working as a nurse, she often saw patients with issues relating to contact lenses, which put her off wearing them herself. Her glasses became a problem when she had to wear protective eyewear when assisting in surgery, she found the extra pressure and weight was uncomfortable.

Cara had lasik laser eye surgery in our Edinburgh clinic. After surgery, Cara's vision was better than 20/20 in both eyes - giving her the freedom to perform her job easily and live life to the fullest. 

Cara commented, "I almost felt proud to be part of the NHS and it was nice for an organisation like Optical Express to be giving back to the community - especially those in the NHS. It helped bring back some of my confidence."
