Lens Replacement SurgeryJune 2025
Heart Radio's Adele Cunningham had LASIK surgery enhanced with iDesign in 2010. She then returned for lens replacement surgery in 2025.
Adele had enjoyed 15 years of clear vision thanks to her LASIK procedure and was reluctant to rely on glasses again, now that her eyesight was deteriorating with age.
The radio host found glasses inconvenient when working on the desk and felt that her eyesight impacted her relationship with her young daughter, Gabriella.
She recalled the panic of not having her glasses to hand straight after her c-section, and worrying about seeing her daughter for the first time clearly. As Gabriella was getting bigger, she was becoming more active and wanting her mum to watch her performing cartwheels or dancing. Adele was struggling with the feeling that she wasn't 'living in the moment', due to always reaching for her glasses.
She opted for Johnson & Johnson Tecnis PureSee lenses - some of the latest on the market, great for night driving! Dr David Teenan completed Adele's surgery and she noted how quick the procedure was.
Adele said: "I got lens replacement surgery at Optical Express, it is the best thing that I've ever done!" and went on to say, "it almost feels like a fresh start at life when you get your eyes done.”
