Optical Express has announced a £3,600 sponsorship of the Scottish Parkinson's International Table Tennis Open 2026, reinforcing a shared commitment to community health and inclusive sport.
Now in its fourth year, the event will take place over the weekend of 15th–16th August and will welcome players from across the UK and beyond who live with Parkinson's.
The funding helps support the delivery of the tournament, ensuring it remains accessible and professionally managed. It also helps shine a light on the link between physical activity and long-term health management for those living with Parkinson's.
This is the third year that Optical Express, the UK's leading providers of eye care services, have supported the event, continuing to demonstrate a strong ongoing commitment to eye health and wellbeing. This continued involvement reflects Optical Express's long-term dedication to raising awareness of the crucial role that vision and eye health play in supporting wider health, including neurological conditions like Parkinson's. Tournament entries officially opened on 21st April.
David Moulsdale, Chairman and CEO of Optical Express and the Moulsdale Foundation, said:
"We're immensely proud to support this fantastic event for a third year. Sport can be truly transformative for people living with Parkinson's, offering both respite and symptom management. Eye care plays a vital role in maintaining balance, reducing double vision and preventing dry eyes, helping participants fully enjoy the tournament.
"This is a community worth investing in, and through our sponsorship we are thrilled to create more opportunities for people to take part, connect and compete."
Linda Duddy from Parkinson's Scottish Table Tennis Association said:
"We are incredibly proud of the success of our event, which is fast becoming one of the sought after Parkinson's Table Tennis events in the Global calendar; and to have David Moulsdale and Optical Express sponsor the event for the third-year running is wonderful. Not only are we thankful for their generosity but more importantly, to have their continued support and belief in our event and what it brings to the Parkinson's table tennis community is fantastic."
Over the last 36 years the Moulsdale Foundation and companies owned and controlled by founder David Moulsdale, have supported hundreds of philanthropic endeavours, donating over £36 million to worthwhile causes in the UK and internationally.
