Optical Express helps to raise thousands of pounds for children living in poverty

Optical Express raises £15,000 for STV’s 2019 Children’s Appeal.

Supporting the STV’s Children’s Appeal since its launch in 2011, Optical Express has donated hundreds of hours of staff time and resource, raising funds for a network of charities across Scotland that support children living in poverty.

Each year, hundreds of staff from all departments take part in a month of fundraising and teambuilding activities which include organising The Big Scottish Breakfast, team challenge games, dress down Fridays, raffles, bake sales and more.

For 2019, Optical Express provided a fully staffed call centre where staff volunteered to process telephone donations from viewers watching the live STV Children’s Appeal TV show hosted by, Lorraine Kelly.

On raising thousands for the appeal, Heather Suttie, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Optical Express said, “Once again we were very pleased to support STV’s Children’s Appeal. We fundraised in over 40 clinics across Scotland and at Optical Express offices in Glasgow and Cumbernauld.

The appeal has helped to raise more than £20m for children living in poverty since its launch. Optical Express is proud to have donated over £300,000 to the total money raised, helping to change the lives of children across Scotland.”

The total raised for the charities supported by the STV Children’s Appeal in 2019, was £2,561,732.
