New state-of-the-art Optical Express clinics now open in Swansea and Manchester

We’re delighted to announce the opening of two new state-of-the-art clinics.

In Swansea, we’re strengthening access to advanced ophthalmic care in South Wales with our clinic in the landmark 71/72 Kingsway development.

In Manchester, we’ve opened a new clinic in the One building on Portland Street.

Swansea

The new Kingsway development is a 104,000-square-foot mixed-use regeneration scheme, part-funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal and the Welsh Government.

The creation of new jobs and the introduction of varied retail options for locals provide a welcome boost to the local economy.

Swansea Council Leader, Councillor Rob Stewart, visited the clinic to meet our Divisional Director, James Pearson, and tour the premises.

He said:

“There has been a shortage of high-quality office accommodation in Swansea, which meant there was a risk to retaining businesses in the city and attracting new businesses and jobs here.

The 71/72 Kingsway scheme is aimed at tackling that challenge, so I’m delighted to welcome Optical Express and sk:n as the latest tenants.

Given challenges such as online shopping, Swansea city centre also needs more footfall and spending to support existing businesses and encourage more shops and other enterprises to open.

Numbers of potential customers are key for businesses when considering where to invest, so the 71/72 Kingsway scheme – alongside many others that are complete, ongoing, or planned – will help create those numbers.”

Manchester

Our Manchester Bridgewater Eye Hospital is supported by consultation clinics across the region. Following feedback from our patients, staff, and visitors, we identified Manchester One as the perfect location for our latest clinic.

The One building is centrally located and easily accessible, just a four-minute walk from Piccadilly Gardens tram stop and a five-minute walk from St Peter’s Square tram stop.

Dr Stephen Hannan, Clinical Services Director at Optical Express, said:

“We are delighted to open our latest clinic in Manchester. As the UK’s leading provider of private eye care, we are proud to be expanding access to high-quality specialist consultations across the North-West of England.

This new clinic reflects our continued investment in advanced technology and clinical expertise. Through our skilled team and outstanding services, we look forward to improving the quality of life for patients across the region.”

Continued investment

The opening of these new clinics demonstrates our ongoing commitment to investing across our network of ophthalmic consultation and treatment clinics and eye hospitals.

Our clinics and eye hospitals are equipped with the latest diagnostic technology and led by highly experienced ophthalmologists, optometrists, and clinical specialists drawn from the local area.

Whether you’re looking for an eye examination or a consultation for vision correction surgery, there’s an Optical Express clinic nearby.
