Poonam is an experienced optometrist, completing her Optometry
degree at the University of Bradford in 2005. Throughout her career,
she has continued her professional development by gaining further
postgraduate qualifications in medical retina and glaucoma, including
specialist training in Medical Retina (2018), a Professional Certificate in Glaucoma from the University of Ulster (2019), and an advanced Higher Certificate in Glaucoma (2020). These additional qualifications have enabled Poonam to develop a deeper understanding of complex ocular conditions, enhancing her ability to detect, monitor and manage retinal and glaucomatous diseases with a high level of clinical accuracy and confidence.
Since graduating, Poonam has worked in an optical setting, developing a wealth of clinical knowledge and experience. At Optical Express, Poonam consistently delivers a high standard of clinical care, combining her extensive experience with advanced clinical knowledge to support patients throughout their treatment journey.
She is a highly respected professional who provides a range of eye care services, including comprehensive eye examinations and pre- and postoperative assessments for vision correction procedures. Poonam is also trained in YAG laser procedures, allowing her to support patients requiring this advanced treatment. She is known for her thorough approach, attention to detail and ability to reassure patients, ensuring they feel confident and well-informed at every stage of their care.
