Cliodhna is a highly skilled optometrist who completed her Optometry
degree in Dublin at The Technological University in 2011. She has been practising with Optical Express since 2017, initially beginning her career in London before continuing her professional development across Ireland, where she is currently based.
As the resident optometrist in the Newry clinic, Cliodhna plays a pivotal role in delivering consistent, high-quality patient care. She also provides clinical support across other locations, including Dublin and Belfast, demonstrating both her adaptability and breadth of experience within different clinical settings.
Clinically, Cliodhna has a strong interest and expertise in cataract
and glaucoma management, with experience in monitoring disease
progression and contributing to patient care pathways. She is also trained in surgical support, working closely alongside leading UK ophthalmic surgeons to deliver pre- and post-operative care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes throughout the surgical journey.
Cliodhna is a dedicated and compassionate professional who consistently prioritises patient-centred care. Her commitment extends beyond clinical practice; she has actively participated in charitable eye care initiatives, including travelling to Mozambique to provide essential eye examinations in underserved communities. This experience reflects both her clinical dedication and her passion for improving vision care on a global scale.
