Considered by his peers to be an expert in LASIK and LASEK eye surgery, refractive lens exchange, cataract and intraocular lens implant surgery, Dr Parmar has gained extensive experience in his field during a distinguished career.
He completed his medical training at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas' Hospitals in London, and his neurosurgery and ophthalmology surgical training at King’s College Hospital.
Dr Parmar then successfully passed the FRCOphth examination to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and completed his higher surgical training in ophthalmology and a fellowship in uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
Dr Parmar completed a clinical fellowship in cornea, external diseases and refractive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and is one of the few eye surgeons in the UK to have undergone state-of-the-art training in refractive surgery in a prestigious clinical fellowship programme in the USA.
Thanks to his extensive experience and training, Dr Parmar has also authored over 40 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, evaluating the work of others in the refractive surgery field.
Dr Parmar performs laser eye surgery and lens replacement surgery at Optical Express in Shaftesbury Avenue, Harley Street, Reading and London White City.
