Dr Mitry is a consultant ophthalmologist with a special interest in refractive surgery, cataract surgery and vitreoretinal conditions. He is a specialist in refractive lens exchange and cataract surgery, and LASIK and LASEK laser eye surgery. He has held a number of positions in eye hospitals in both private and public sectors.
After completing a medical degree with honours from Trinity College of Dublin, Dr Mitry trained in London where he completed advanced retinal training. He was awarded a PhD form the University of Edinburgh in 2012.
Dr Mitry has extensive experience in ophthalmology, having worked in a number of NHS hospitals including the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust and the Western Eye Hospital in London. He has also spent a number of years at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London receiving specialist training.
Currently a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust in London, Dr Mitry has helped thousands of patients to improve their vision during his career. Over the last few years Dr Mitry has made a vast number of international presentations relating to ophthalmology, in addition to publishing many high impact medical papers on eye health, particularly in myopia and retinal disease.
