Maidstone clinic moves locations in major refit

This month, Optical Express Maidstone clinic underwent a major refit, moving locations to enable the clinic to increase its customer capacity and offer a greater range of products and services. The move – which situates the new clinic directly opposite the old one in the same shopping centre - also provides the clinic with a visual uplift. The new bright, white interior, consistent with the look in other Optical Express locations, takes the place of the tartan style carpets of the previous location.

John Wilson, the clinic’s General Manager, commented with enthusiasm about the change.

"All the staff feel very proud of the new clinic and what they can achieve,” he said. “We hope that this is a stepping stone to greater success."

Given all the changes, Wilson said that the move was “a little daunting at first,” but that he was happy with the results, and hoped that patients would be as well.

Though the number of staff at the location – seven – remains the same, the refit includes new testing and staff rooms. In addition, the Maidstone clinic is now a laser consultation centre. Laser consultations are free, and prices start at from just £395 per eye. With 57 laser eye surgery locations across the UK and Europe, Optical Express carries out thousands of laser procedures each week across Europe. In addition, Optical Express has over 100 consultation centres, including the Maidstone clinic, where patients can receive pre and post-operative care.

The Maidstone clinic also continues to offer optical services, with frames, contact lenses, and sunglasses all available. In its new location, the clinic is able to carry an even wider variety of frames than before, now stocking over 1600. In addition to the brands previously offered, including Gucci, Prada and Versace, the clinic now also stocks Fendi, YSL, D&G, Givenchy, Hugo Boss, and other designers.
