After being notified of his fantastic prize he booked his consultation into our Norwich store for the start of February. We look forward to finding out if Peter is suitable for the treatment.

Our lucky October winner is Victoria Milburn from Blaydon-on-Tyne, Newcastle. Victoria was delighted to discover she was our winner after entering our competition online. After her initial consultation which determined she was a suitable candidate, Victoria had her treatment carried out in the Cameron Walk store at the start of December and now has new vision for the New Year!

We are delighted to announce our September winner is Lisa Matthews from Devon. Laser eye surgery was something that Lisa had been wanting for a while so she was excited to find out that she had won our competition! Her consultation is booked for December, we will keep you up to date with her progress!

Our winner for August unfortunately did not respond to our calls or emails and missed out on the chance of free laser eye surgery.

We are delighted to announce that Ms Clare Fairley is our lucky July winner.

Clare had filled out an online enquiry form but was yet to book a consultation when she got the call advising of her fantastic win.

Clare said "I can't believe my luck, I didn't believe it at first but now I'm excited to find out if I'm suitable for this life changing treatment."

Clare had her surgery at the Metro Centre clinic in September and is thrilled with the results!

Congratulations to our June 2011 winner, Mr Martin Harkins, who has won laser eye surgery – completely free of charge!

At the time of writing Martin was arranging a suitable date for an initial consultation to confirm his suitability for this life changing treatment.

Congratulations to Ms. Lindsey Baldie our winner of May's free prize draw.

Lindsey had already had a consultation with us when she was notified of her lucky win. At the time of writing Lindsey was arranging a consultation follow up appointment to discuss with her Optometrist which procedure would be suitable for her.

Mr Rory Jackson is April's lucky winner of free laser eye surgery. He'd already had his consultation at our Watford clinic and was taken by surprise when we told him the good news. Rory said:

"Before I had laser eye treatment I was short sighted, not massively but enough that I had to wear contact lenses or glasses all of the time. From a young age I didn't like how I looked with glasses on and so I got contact lenses as soon as I could, firstly hard lenses and then soft daily disposables. This was also because I play a lot of sport including football meaning that glasses were very inconvenient. Although having lenses was relatively convenient there was still the hassle of remembering to put them in and take them out every day, and in the evenings I often found that my eyes were a little dry and I had to take my lenses out before I really wanted to. This, along with the cost of daily contact lenses led me to look into getting laser eye surgery. I entered the competition on the Optical Express website and went for my free consultation. I was told that there was no reason why I could not have the treatment and that my eyes were suitable for the whole range of treatments on offer.

"Whilst I was weighing up my options I received a call saying that I had won the competition! I couldn't believe it, so I set a date to go ahead with the procedure. In the lead up to this Optical Express were incredibly helpful and friendly, always available to answer any questions or queries I had, and made me feel at ease. On the day of the procedure the staff were again very friendly and made me feel relaxed. The surgeon and nurses were really nice and the procedure itself was amazingly quick and painless. I experienced a little discomfort immediately after the surgery and went home to bed for a few hours but since then I have had no discomfort and have been doing all of the things I normally would.

"At my check up 24 hours after the surgery my eyes were already looking good and healthy and my vision was already better than 20/20! It's nice to think that I don't have to worry about the hassle and expense of glasses and contact lenses any more. Thank you Optical Express!"

Our lucky March laser eye surgery winner is Ms. Louise McManus of Reading. Louise already had her consultation at our Reading clinic but hadn't booked yet when she was notified of her win.

Louise said: "I've been wearing glasses for 12 years and contacts for about eight years. I'm the only person in my family who has sight problems so it's hard for my family to understand what it's like not being able to see when you wake up in the morning or when you're having a shower. My sight problems held me back on family holidays, seeing sights and enjoying water parks. I have Behcets Disease which can result in eye inflammations as well so I didn’t think laser eye surgery was an option open to me at first. After my complimentary laser eye surgery consultation I found out I was a suitable candidate for treatment.

"I noticed that I could win free laser eye surgery through the Optical Express website, so I entered the competition, hoping that I might win. I couldn't believe it when Optical Express called and said I was the March winner.

"The operation was quick, painless and straight forward, I was in the surgery room for around ten minutes. Afterwards I experienced a little discomfort with my eyes watering and stinging slightly but just one day later I was back at work working on my computer. At my one week check up I had better than 20/20 vision. I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity and want to thank all the staff at Optical Express."

February's winner of laser eye surgery is Mr Martin Jones of Swansea. Unfortunately Mr Jones was found unsuitable for laser eye surgery following a review with our senior optometrist and was unable to proceed.

Georgina Anderson of Brighton is the January 2011 UK winner of our monthly competition to win laser eye surgery. Before winning the competition Georgina had contacted us to find out more about laser eye surgery but had not booked a consultation yet. It was quite a surprise to Georgina to find out she had won.

Georgina commented: "When I first heard I had won I thought it was a joke as I never win anything, however when I went for my consultation reality set in as I was treated with 1st class service by everyone I met. I had the the Advanced Customvue Wavefront with iFS 150™ IntraLase at the Harley Street clinic and the staff were fantastic.

"The operation only took 15 minutes and I could see straight away, other than a little discomfort for a few hours it was completely painless. Six weeks on, I have 20/20 vision and I'm living a carefree, fun life of a 20 year old without glasses or contact lenses. Thank you very much Optical Express!"

Congratulations to our November winner Mrs Rosemarie Cordwell (47). Rosemarie had filled out an online enquiry form and was yet to book a consultation when she was notified of her win.

She said: "I'd worn glasses for 35 years; I couldn't remember what life was like without them. When I was browsing online one day when I came across the Optical Express competition to win free laser eye treatment. I filled out the online enquiry form and thought no more about it.

When I got the call advising that I'd won I got the shock of my life, I really thought there must be a catch or it was a trick. Once I got over that I was over the moon, really ecstatic. I had my initial consultation at the Eastcheap store and I was delighted to be told I was a perfect candidate for the procedure. I chose to have the treatment at the Harley Street Clinic. I was very nervous on the day and was asking lots of the questions but the surgeon Mr Manek Patel put me completely at ease. The procedure itself was over in just a few minutes and wasn't painful at all I just felt pressure on my eyeballs.

Now I'm seeing better than 20/20 and feel very lucky to have my sight back, especially since it hasn't cost me a penny. Laser eye surgery has left me feeling more confident than ever before, thank you so much Optical Express".

October laser eye surgery winner is Miss Victoria Mayall of Hull. Victoria entered the competition via the online enquiry form after chatting to staff at the Hull St Stephens store about the treatment.

She said "I had popped into the store to ask about laser eye surgery and what it involved. I didn't have time that day to have a free consultation but they answered all the questions I had regarding my astigmatism and whether or not I would be suitable, I went home to do some research online and came across the competition. I entered my details not thinking anything would come of it and to my surprise I got a call advising me that I had won! I just couldn't believe it! I called Optical Express immediately after to make sure it wasn't a scam and to confirm all the details. I couldn't believe my luck!

On the day of the treatment I was quite nervous and worried about the procedure but the staff at the Hull clinic were all really lovely and made me feel so at ease. One of the nurses even held my hand throughout the treatment. The service from the surgery team and store staff was first class. Immediately after the treatment my eyes felt sticky and quite gritty but I went home to bed and woke up a few hours later with perfect vision. I don't ever remember seeing so well. Congratulations to Mr. Colin Findlay of Falkirk, our lucky September winner. He was taken completely by surprise when he was told he had won free laser eye surgery as he had just filled out an enquiry form on the website! He had his consultation at our Stirling store and was delighted to be found suitable for laser eye surgery. He had his treatment at our Silverburn clinic with surgeon David Teenan and is now seeing better than 20/20!

He said "I'm a police officer in Glasgow and having had the treatment means that I can now go into situations knowing that my glasses are not going to hinder me. Mr Ashraf Nasir of Leeds was our August winner of the free prize draw; he had just completed an online enquiry form when he was told he had won. He had his consultation in September and his free treatment courtesy of Optical Express in October at our Leeds clinic.

Ashraf is ecstatic about the results of his treatment, his vision is now better than it was with his glasses. The competition winner in July was Jennifer Glover who couldn't believe her luck at winning free laser eye surgery courtesy of Optical Express.

She said "Initially I was a bit apprehensive, I have never won anything in my life and I thought it was too good to be true. I had my first consultation on Tuesday 24th of August and had laser treatment on Saturday 4th September in Edinburgh.

The improvement straight away to my vision has changed my life, I can actually now see the bus number before it arrives and I can read signs clearly. Driving at night has always been a nightmare for me as I get dazzled by oncoming traffic, glasses and contact lenses do not correct this, but laser eye surgery does! The results are fantastic.

More importantly the customer service and care I have received at Optical Express has been fantastic, all Optical Express staff that I have come in contact with in the Edinburgh Princes St branch have exceeded my expectations. June's Competition Winner Mark Clark is happy with the results of his laser eye surgery and is very glad that he entered the competition online. Miss Yvonne Skalban was the lucky winner of free laser eye surgery in May. She had her consultation at our Wolverhampton clinic and her surgery in August at our Merryhill clinic.

Yvonne is overjoyed with the results of her treatment and is enjoying life without glasses. Yvonne said "I had my eye surgery two weeks ago at the Merry Hill branch. I was really scared but the staff at Merry Hill put me at ease, they were excellent! They were really friendly and explained everything to me in great detail. It was really nice to see that most of them had the surgery done themselves, that helped me calm down a lot. My surgeon Mr Alex George was also brilliant. I am very happy and am enjoying my life without glasses thanks to Optical Express! I imagined a life without glasses to be great, but in reality it is truly awesome! I am looking forward to doing my favourite sports (snowboarding, running, diving, squash) without annoying glasses. Even day to day life is so much nicer, I can open the dishwasher without being blinded by steam and when going out I can put beautiful eye makeup on".

Mr Paul Keogh of Dungannon is the winner of our April prize draw for free laser eye surgery. Mr Keogh attended his consultation and went for surgery in our Belfast clinic completely free of charge and enjoyed this summer free from glasses.

Congratulations to Michelle Sewell of Sunderland, who is our lucky March winner! Michelle had not yet booked a consultation when her name was drawn from thousands of March entries, but upon receiving the fantastic news, she was quickly booked in for a consultation at our Newcastle Clinic. Since undergoing treatment, she is thrilled with the results and with her new vision!

Our February laser eye surgery winner was Mr Alan Law of Glenrothes. He attended his consultation in Dunfermline this March, and had his surgery in at our Princes Street location in Edinburgh. Congratulations to Mr Law!

Miss Joanne Christmas of Leeds was our lucky winner of January's FREE laser eye surgery draw. After going in for her consultation at our Leeds clinic, she quickly booked her treatment opting to have surgery at Leeds also.

November's prize draw winner was Mrs Caroline Cutts of Doncaster. Mrs Cutts made her initial enquiry using our website and is very happy with the results of her treatment.

Mr. Phil Hall of Spalding near Peterborough was the lucky winner of our Win FREE Laser Eye Surgery prize draw in October. Mr. Hall is very happy with his new vision and says that his experience with Optical Express has been "Fantastic!".

This month's lucky winner of life changing laser surgery was Mr Alistair Graham from Edinburgh. Tired of his daily glasses routine, Mr Graham visited the Optical Express website to learn more about laser eye surgery and how he could benefit. Whilst browsing the website he entered our competition to win free treatment. He was absolutely delighted to hear he had won before he had got round to booking a consultation. Congratulations Alistair!

Summer is a time for having fun and enjoying ourselves, as well as being able to wear our sunglasses, without having to consider contacts or prescription sunglasses. David Hynes from Portsmouth is our lucky August Laser Eye Surgery winner and will have the extra freedom from contacts and glasses this summer. The winner of our competition for June was Mrs Helen Williams from Cambridge. Mrs Williams was very happy to win back the cost of her surgery and is delighted with her new vision.

Congratulations to Ms Susan Moloney who was the winner of our competition to win free laser eye surgery in May! Susan had her consultation at our Aberdeen clinic and is very happy with her new vision.

April's prize draw winner was Ms Helen Gilbert, who had her laser eye surgery consultation in our White City clinic in London. Ms Gilbert made her initial enquiry using our website and, as this month's winner, will be refunded the full cost of her laser eye surgery procedure.

Our lucky winner for March was Ms Debbie Urqhart who wins back the cost of her laser eye surgery. Ms Urqhart had her consultation and treatment at our clinic in Shaftesbury Avenue, London and is delighted with the results.

Our congratulations go to Philip Seward and Catherine Spriggs this Valentines Day. This lucky pair were the winners of our special Valentines Day laser promotion where we were offering two extra chances for our patients to win free laser eye surgery. Both Mr Seward and Ms Spriggs were delighted to be given the news that they had won and are both very happy with the results of their treatments. We wish them both the very best for the future.

The winner of our competition for February is Krystal Hall of Belfast, who had her laser eye treatment on the 3rd of February in our Belfast clinic. She wins back the total cost of her surgery and is delighted with her new vision! 

To celebrate the New Year, Optical Express wanted to thank our patients for their support by offering an extra WIN Free Laser eye surgery draw in addition to our regular monthly competition.

The lucky winners were Lynn Dunn from Glasgow, and Debbie Lockhart from Inverness.

We bring in the New Year by saying congratulations to our first winner of free laser eye treatment in 2009, our congratulations go to Marikune Hidalgo! Miss Hidalgo had her initial consultation on the 12th January in Surrey and was treated on the 20th January at our Harley Street Clinic by our experienced surgeon, Jonathan Carr. Miss Hidalgo is very happy with the results of her treatment and was delighted to hear that she was this months winner, winning back the total cost of her treatment.

Our lucky competition winner for December was Bernice Hamilton, who had her laser eye treatment at our Trafford Clinic on the 9th December. Ms Hamilton was delighted with the results of her surgery and at winning our competition. We are very happy to award her the prize - the total cost of her surgery.

Congratulations to Mr Sujad Rashid, November's winner of our Win Free Laser Eye Surgery Competition! Mr Rashid was treated in our Meadowhall Clinic on the 11th November and was very pleased with both the results of his surgery and at being November's winner.

October's prize draw winner was Mr. Iain Stewart Ford, who had his laser eye surgery consultation in our Silverburn clinic in Glasgow. Mr. Stewart Ford made his initial enquiry using our website and, as this month's winner, will now be refunded the full cost of his laser eye surgery procedure.

September's winner is Mr. Robert Fletcher of Leeds who won back the cost of his laser eye treatment. He is pictured receiving his cheque from councillor Nyree Pickering.

July's lucky winner was Kerry Horton from Dudley in the West Midlands. Kerry was treated at our Birmingham clinic on the 30th July and was elated with her new 6/5 unaided vision!

Our competition winner for June is Lucy Murphy, who had her laser eye treatment on the 18th of June in our Birmingham clinic.  She wins back the total cost of her surgery. 

Mr. Fraser McMullan of Dublin is our competition winner for May. He was treated on the 22nd May in our Dublin clinic and now has outstanding 6/5 vision.

Mr. Gary Trew is the lucky winner of April's prize draw to win back the cost of his laser eye surgery. Mr. Trew, pictured above with store manager Ian Gillies and optometrist Prashna Bharkhada, had his consultation in our Wimbledon store.

March's winner is Mr. Michael Hird of Newcastle who wins back the cost of his laser eye treatment.

Our lucky winner in February was Mr. Robin Beavis who wins back the cost of his laser eye surgery. Mr Beavis had his consultation and treatment at our clinic in Cheltenham.

Congratulations to Fiona Murphy who was the winner of our competition to win free laser eye surgery in January! Fiona had her consultation at our clinic in Dublin.

Mr. Richard Ambrose was the lucky winner of our prize draw in December. Mr. Ambrose made his initial enquiry on our website and had his laser eye surgery consultation and treatment at our clinic in Cambridge.

November's winner of our prize draw was Mr. Simon Fowler who had his laser eye surgery consultation in our Bournemouth clinic. Mr. Fowler made his initial enquiry using our website and, as this month's winner, will now be refunded the full cost of his laser eye surgery procedure.

This winner of our prize draw in October was Mr. Phillip Ball from Aldershot. He came along to our Optical Express Lister Gate clinic in Nottingham to collect his cheque, refunding him the full amount for his treatment.

Mrs. Joanne Miles was the lucky September winner of our prize draw and she was delighted to receive a cheque from us giving her a full refund on the cost of her laser eye surgery procedure. On hearing the news she said, "I am delighted, I really am." Mrs. Miles arrived at the Optical Express clinic in the St John's Shopping Centre in Liverpool to collect her cheque and posed for pictures with staff before heading home to celebrate.
