Hi I’m Jennifer. I’m a laser counsellor at the Silverburn store in Optical Express. I’ve worked for the company for about two and a half years and I had the surgery about a year and a half ago, purely just to get rid of my glasses and contact lenses.

It was just a pain, really, having to put them in. I wasn’t so good with my lenses. It took me three times as long to get it in my left eye as it did my right, so I thought – get the surgery done, get rid of them for good. Since I’ve had it done, everything’s been absolutely fantastic. It’s just made everything a lot easier. Get up in the morning, don’t have to worry about fumbling about the lenses and glasses and everything like that. Going to the bus stop, don’t have to worry about peering at the bus number once it’s nearly right in front of me. It’s been really good for me. It makes everything much easier than it was before.

Since having the surgery done it does make it a lot easier to relate to my patients, exactly how they’re going to be feeling on the journey. It makes me want to be able to tell them exactly what’s going to happen step by step, how they’re going to feel as they’re going through the surgery. I think that makes them feel a lot more comfortable as well, and they’re happy to know that they’re with somebody who they can talk to about it and exactly what goes on.

Overall absolutely thrilled with the results of my surgery, I would recommend it to anybody. If you’re thinking about having it done, come in, find out, see if you’re suitable, and then get yourself booked in. Quite a few of my friends have come in to find out about it because they’re happy with what I can see and they really want to have it done now as well.
