Born in Rome, Mr Luca Antico is an experienced Opthalmic Surgeon who has performed more than 6,000 laser procedures including LASIK and LASEK. Having graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Medical School of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Roma he then went on to graduate in the specialism of Ophthalmology at this institute in 1998.

Mr Antico is a registered member of the General Medical Council to practice medicine in the UK and a registered member of the Ordine dei Medici (Order of Physicians) di Roma.

During his residencies, Mr Antico underwent specialist training in ophthalmology and gained extensive experience in Paediatric ophthalmology, Refractive surgery, Cataract Surgery, Oculoplastics and Medical Retina.

Following graduation, Mr Antico entered into a fellowship (Post-Grado) at the Services of Cataract Surgery and Oculoplastic Surgery of the “Hopital Oftalmologico Pando Ferrer de La Habana" and a subsequent fellowship in Refractive Surgery at the Intituto Oftalmologico de Alicante (Spain), one of the leading centres of refractive surgery in the world.

Mr Antico then went on to head the Refractive Surgery Service at the Ospedali Civili Riuniti in the Italian coastal town of Sciacca. His career progressed at the San Paolo di Civitavecchia hospital then the Padre Pio di Bracciano hospital where he was responsible for the running of the Retina, Adnexal and Cataract clinics. Both of these institutes are public funded hospitals run by the Italian Nation Health Service, Servizio Sanitario Nazionale (SSN).

Mr Antico has also volunteered his services for the non-profit organisation Emergency in Afganistan, and for Dimore di S.Giovanni in Rome. A multi linguist, Mr Antico is fluent in Italian, Spanish, French and English.
