Dr. Yoshihiro Kitazawa

MD

Dr. Yoshihiro Kitazawa is one of the leading experts on laser vision correction (LVC) Surgery in Japan.  After graduating from University of Fukui in 1990, he moved to Tokyo Medical and Dental University and began his investigation on myopia correction with the excimer laser system. In 1996, he was appointed as a Diplomat of Ophthalmology by the Japanese Ophthalmological Society.  He was also appointed as a lecturer in ophthalmology at Tokyo Medical and Dental University from 1999 to 2001 and as a guest lecturer from 2004 to 2009.

Dr. Kitazawa started performing PRK surgery in 1991 and then LASIK in 1996.  He has performed Laser vision correction surgery on over 28,000 and needless to say, he has performed the highest number of Epi-LASIK and LASEK treatments in Japan.  In addition, he performed P-IOL implantation on 1,000 patients, which involves the highest number of ARTISAN and ARTIFLEX implantation in Japan and also cataract surgery on 13,000 patients. Treatments for glaucoma and retina-vitreous disease are also performed by Dr.Kitazawa in Park Hospital (Saitama, Japan) where he also works.

As a leading expert of refractive surgery in Japan, he has been featured on TV and in magazines several times including “OCULAR SURGERY NEWS JAPAN EDITION’ in July 2008 and “Nikkei” newspaper also in 2008.
