Are You Suitable?

Your eyes are as individual as you are and we can only assess if you are suitable for intraocular lens treatment by inviting you to attend a free consultation carried out by one of our experienced specialist refractive optometrists.

Only after this in depth eye examination, as well as assessing your expectations and lifestyle, can our optometrist determine if you are a suitable candidate.

Short Sight (Myopia)

Diagram of Short Sightedness

If you need vision correction to see things clearly at a distance, you are short sighted. Without glasses or contact lenses your distance vision is blurred.

Long Sight (Hyperopia)

If you need vision correction to read or see things close up, you are long sighted. Depending on your age you may have problems focusing on distant objects too.

Astigmatism

Diagram of Astigmatism

Astigmatism is commonly where the cornea (front surface of the eye) is oval, like a rugby ball instead of spherical, like a football. Most astigmatic corneas have two curves; a steeper curve and a flatter curve. Which cause light to focus at more than one point in the eye, resulting in blurred vision. Most people who are long and short sighted often have a degree of astigmatism.
