Qualified from Glasgow Caledonian University, Scott has over 20 years’ experience in Optometry.
Scott has worked all over the country for Optical Express and enjoys providing excellent patient care and being part of the patient journey. His clinical knowledge and practice involves diagnosing, managing and providing treatment plans for a range of eye conditions and diseases.
Scott’s highest personal achievement so far has been completing and attaining the Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification in 2021. Fully funded and supported by Optical Express, the IP qualification allows him to expand his skill-set even further and better support his patients. The IP qualification enables him to manage many eye conditions at community level without the need to refer patients to an eye Doctor at a hospital.
As an experienced Pre-Registration Supervisor, Scott has helped a number of students achieve their GOC and is also a Member of the College of Optometrists and the Association of Optometrists. These memberships ensure that Scott is kept up to date with the latest clinical management guidelines and research in refractive surgery.
Scott has also been a key asset within our Surgery Support Teams, where he assists our Ophthalmic Surgeons by preparing patients for laser eye, cataract and lens replacement surgery procedures.
