After completing his BSc (Hons) in Optometry over 10 years ago, Paul has worked across a number of optical practices gaining practical experience and expanding his clinical knowledge before starting his career with Optical Express in 2018.
Having worked in several countries, and volunteering with a number of prominent charities across the globe, Paul has always had an active interest in his professional development. He has completed professional certifications in both Glaucoma and Low Vision and recently took advantage of the opportunity to complete an Independent Prescribing course at Glasgow Caledonian University fully funded by Optical Express. Â
Paul has been part of our Surgery Support team, where he assists our Ophthalmic Surgeons by preparing patients for their laser eye, cataract and lens replacement surgery procedures.
Paul has also recently started work in a Glaucoma clinic within Optical Express’ partner organisation, ACES which has allowed him to developed an even wider skill-set, helping to diagnose and offer treatment plans to patients suffering with this eye disease. Through his position at Optical Express he provides pre and post-operative care to our patients receiving refractive surgery as well as assisting clinicians in cases that are more complex in nature.
