Optometrist Alia Hussain is a highly skilled and focussed professional with over 20 years’ clinical and commercial experience.
Since obtaining her BSc (Hons) in Optometry from the University of Ulster in 2003, Alia has gained a wealth of knowledge in refractive surgery, allowing her to become one of our more senior colleagues in order to deal with complex cases. Taking an active leadership role, Alia is also a keen mentor to up and coming optometrists within the company ensuring that they learn and perform best clinical practices at all times. As well as this Alia is also a key member of our Surgery Support Team, assisting surgeons during refractive procedures which allows her to continuously enhance her clinical knowledge.
Day to day Alia diagnoses and treats a full range of eye disease as well as performing pre and post-operative consultations for patients receiving refractive surgery. Alia has also undertaken a wide range of clinical training programmes in order to further her career and strengthen her knowledge of the industry, this includes achieving a certificate in Independent Prescribing and a diploma in Refractive and Cataract Surgery.
